Confidence Boost to accept the sound of your voice on recordings
When we hear our voice on recordings we cringe.
We feel like that's not us, we ask ourselves: do I really sound like that? And it makes us feel self-conscious and embarrassed sometimes even, that this is what people hear.
As a result we shy away from recording our voice and potentially miss out on plenty of occasions where our opinion would actually be a valuable contribution.
In this Love to hear yourself speak Mini course, I don't tell you how you SHOULD sound, so you can love your voice.
I guide you through a process of accepting your voice as part of who you are, getting acquainted with it, recognizing it and ultimately seeing it as the valuable tool you have within you to communicate your sensational worth with the world.
I share with you a tried and tested 30 min process that will help you:
- take control of your shame and negative feelings about your voice
- eliminate the negative chatter in your head
- find a new fondness and appreciation for your valuable instrument
AND: it will connect you to your joy, positive excitement and pride in not only showing your audience what a competent expert and leader, but also wonderful human being you are.
The whole process with my guidance takes about 30 minutes. It consists of 11 questions to ask yourself, reflect and meditate on. You will need paper, a pen and/or a notebook to write on - and 30 minutes of quiet time, where you won't be disturbed. You also need your phone or another device where you can create short voice recordings. I give you instructions and all you need to do is follow my lead and allow yourself to venture out on this journey of self discovery.
I cannot guarantee that you will be completely in love with your voice after once completing this exercise, but every time you complete it, you will be one step closer to considering your voice with conscious care. Allowing ourselves to consciously feel our feelings, even the unwanted ones like hate and loathing for our voice, can be the first step in allowing them to change.
Changing our learnt responses to life's challenges is a process that takes some time. What this practice can do, is to put you back in charge in a situation where you seemingly have no control over.
